5 Things to Avoid if you want to Raise your Consciousness

In the busy world of today, everything is go, go, go!! We are constantly surrounded by things that sap our vital energy. To raise our vibration and connection to spirit we need to learn the art of letting go. Here are my top 5 energy sappers.

  1. Social Media.

Spending less time on social media will definitely help you raise your vibration.  I was personally guilty of wasting hours watching crazy cat videos when I was depressed (how embarrassing!) and I can tell you, it did nothing for me at all. But seriously, social media does not connect you to real people, just the ideal fantasy world that they would like you to see. I would recommend a GIANT clean up of your social media accounts, only following REAL friends and family, and people that uplift you. Also try and seriously limit the amount of time spent on social media. It is far better to try and initiate real interactions with friends.

2. Consumerism 

In today’s world we are bombarded with adverts and increased pressure to spend, spend, spend! In reality, owning more stuff will not make you happier. In fact, many of the happiest people on earth own very little. Do not make the mistake of connecting your worth and value with your possessions. We are energetically connected to EVERYTHING that we own, so less is definitely more if you want to free up some energy to manifest what you truly desire.

3. Junk Foods

Junk foods contain a lot of processed sugar and fats that are very difficult for the body to process. This means that instead of providing you with much needed energy and nourishment, junk food will sap away your vitality. The mind, body and spirit are all connected. You must care for and value your body. Your spirit will thank you for it! A diet high in fruits and vegetables will give you a massive energy boost, and make you feel a lot better.

4. Stress

If you want to raise your consciousness and live a more connected life spiritually, you must try and take a step back from everyday stress. This would include people and situations that cause you anxiety. Make sure that you take a breather, and allow time for you. YOU are the most powerful being in the universe, but it is not your job to please everyone. Learn to say no to situations that you don’t feel drawn to.  You will feel more at peace and far more relaxed.

5. Excessive Alcohol

Alcohol is a reality altering drug and a depressant. It is so toxic to the body that drinking just a small amount of pure alcohol would kill you. Many people drink as a way of feeling better, or not feeling anything. Unfortunately, forgetting life’s problems just means we have to deal with them later. Also, they will probably have got worse in the meantime! It goes without saying that we need to be at least sober to raise our awareness to a higher level.
